No voter turnout at Saptari’s election centre yet
Dec 7, 2017-
While the entire country is casting ballot in the second phase of Federal Parliament and Provincial Assembly elections being held across 45 districts and voters eager in line to elect their representatives, villagers of Mahadeva Rural Municipality in Saptari district seems to have abandoned their constitutional rights by not showing up at the voting centre in Adharbhut Primary School.
According to our Saptari correspondent Abdesh Kumar Jha, no voters and representatives of political parties showed up at the voting centre till 9 am while election officials were duly stationed right from 7am.
The voting centre lies in the area where the house of Madhes secessionism campaigner CK Raut is located.
“Voting has not yet started as no voters have shown up till now,” Chief District Officer Bhagirath Pandey told the Post.
There are 960 voters registered at the election centre.
