Senior NC leaders trailing behind left alliance candidates
As vote counting reaches mid-way in dozens of constituencies, some senior leaders of Nepali Congress are trailing behind left alliance candidates. In Jhapa-3, NC senior leader Krishna Prasad Situala is getting further far behind. Rastriya Prajatantra Party candidate Rajendra Lingden has secured 13,060 votes, while Sitaula has received 9,441 votes. In Tanahu-1, NC candidate Ram Chandra Poudel is trailing behind left candidate Krishna Kumar Shrestha. Shrestha has secured 5606, Poudel with 4315. Poudel is winning all the elections after 1990. This time, due to left alliance, Poudel is facing challenges to win elections.
In Nuwakot, senior leaders of Ram Sharan Mahat and Arjun Narasingh KC are far behind left candidates. In Nuwakot-1, left alliance candidate Hit Bahadur Tamang is leading with 9135 votes, while Ram Sharan Mahat of NC has secured 7449 votes. In Nuwakot-2, left alliance candidate Narayan Khatiwada is leading with 9782 votes and NC leader KC is behind with 6630 votes.
In Dhanusha-3, Rastriya Janata Party leader Rajendra Mahato is leading NC candidate Bimalendra Nidhi. Mahato has secured 13188 votes, while Nidhi has secured 11078 votes. In Kailali-5 , NC leader Arzoo Rana is behind left alliance candidate Narad Muni Rana. Rana has secured 8990 and Deuba 7970 votes.
