Pressure cooker bomb goes off in Lahan

An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off at main thoroughfare in Lahan, Siraha on Thursday.

According to police, an unidentified had planted the explosives packed inside pressure cooker on a cycle. The bike was damaged in the explosion but has not caused any casualty or injury, Inspector Yugeshwor Raut said.

Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) personnel used to patrol the main chok, which remained busy round the clock.

Police said that pamphlets of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Revolutionary) were found from the blast site, which is 150 metres south from the Area Police Office.

“All the Tarai people should be united to end the colonial rule for the freedom of Tarai,” the pamphlets read.

Nepali ruler should leave Tarai and locals of Tarai should be given priority in Nepal Army, Nepal Police and government offices, the pamphlets further read.

Police said that they are searching for the man who planted bomb in the area.
