Nepal win ACC U16 Eastern Region tournament

Dec 17, 2017-Nepal U-16 side defeated Singapore U-16 side by 72 runs to claim the Asian Cricket Council U-16 Eastern Region tournament in Thailand on Sunday.

Chasing 184 runs from 35 overs for victory, Singapore was dismissed for 112 runs at the Terdthai Cricket Ground.

Winning the toss and batting first, Nepali inning was built mainly around a 63-run knock by Bishal Bikram KC and some hard-hitting by Narayan Joshi. KC took 79 balls for the contribution before he was caught in the 33rd over. Joshi hit five boundaries and a six for 23-ball 46. Suwash Ayer (22), Trit Raj Das (19) and Sunil Bhandari (15) were other notable scorers for Nepal.

Opener Sai Harsha Venugopal scored 31 and Arnav Wadhwa hit 21 runs for Singapore. Surya Tamang and Ajay Kumar Loniya claimed three wickets each for Nepal.
