PM sacks Urban Development Minister Giri

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has sacked Urban Development Minister Dil Nath Giri on Monday.

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) on Friday had written to PM Deuba to sack Minister Giri from the post as per the party decision.

PM Deuba sacked Minister Giri from the post after the RPP decided to recall the minister following differences with RPP Chairman and Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Kamal Thapa. Chairman Thapa had expressed discontent over Minister Giri’s proposal to transfer Ramesh Prasad Singh as the secretary at the Urban Development Ministry.

Following the incident, DPM Thapa has been appointed as Urban Development Minister

DPM Thapa and Minister Giri were also at loggerheads regarding the appointment of Director General of Urban Development Department.
