Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has remarked that the government will fix provincial capitals and appoint governors within the next three days.
Inaugurating the Makar festival in Godawari of Kailali on Sunday, PM Deuba said that the twin task of fixing provincial capital and appointing governors were delayed due to attempt to forge political consensus. “The government will fix the provincial capitals and appoint governors within the next three days regardless of the agreement on the same,” said PM Deuba.
“None of the parties have brought clear majority in elections. Parliament has not been formed. Who should I hand over the country’s leadership?” said PM Deuba, “It is futile to make rhetorical statements regarding handover of power without understanding the due legal process and constitutional provision. Who will become the prime minister? I will hand over the power in a minute if PM candidate comes up through legal process.”
PM Deuba said that the parliament will get a full shape only after the election of National Assembly, and then only a new government will be formed.
Deuba said that Godawari pilgrimage carries religious and tourism significance and expressed commitment for the development of the region.
On the occasion, Godavari Development Committee Chairman Padam Raj Joshi, lawmaker Naradmuni Rana and Godavari Muncipality Mayor Hari Singh Saud urged the PM to make a master plan for the development of Godavaridham.
