In the first semi-final match, Biratnagar defeated hosts Itahari Cricket Academy by five wickets. Dhangadi crushed Nepalgunj by 82 runs in the other semi-final. The final is slated for Tuesday.
The first match was reduced to 14-over-a-side due to bad weather and Itahari managed 91-6 after they were put in to bat first. Gautam Sharma top scored for Itahari with 29 runs, while Pawan Sarraf was their second best with 15. Bibek Mehta (14) was the other batsman to score in double figures. Bibek Yadav took two wickets for Biratnagar.
Biratnagar reached the target in 12.4 overs on the back of 30 runs from man-of-the-match Minesh Thapa. Firdosh Ansari sealed the chase with 17 unbeaten runs and Amit Yadav chipped in 16. Manish Dahal was pick of the Itahari bowlers with three wickets.
Dhangadhi amassed 147-5 in 20 overs before bundling out Nepalgunj for just 66 runs in 19 overs. None of the Nepalgunj batsmen managed to score runs in double figures. Earlier, Bhima Sharki top scored for Dhangadi with 37 runs, while Lokesh Bam contributed 22 and Narayan Joshi added 19 runs. Basanta Karki (14) and Shere Malla (11) also chipped in runs in double figures. Bijaya Chaudhary took two wickets for Nepalgunj.
The champions will get Rs 100,000 and the runners-up will receive Rs 50,000.
