Case lodged against attackers of Post scribe
A public offence case has been filed against five individuals for attacking journalist Sudip Kaini on Tuesday. Area Police Office, Abu Khaireni, had arrested the five individuals on Monday itself.
A team of journalists headed by Federation of Nepalese Journalist (FNJ)-Gorkha chapter President Kishar Jung Thapa lodged the case.
Police inspector Lok Bahadur Gurung said that those involve in Monday’s attack have been taken to Damauli, the district headquarters, for further legal action including extension of their remand.
Those involved in attacking Kaini have identified as Raghupati KC, Shivaji KC, Ram Krishna KC, Subash KC and Ranjit Shrestha aka Guru Ba—all residents of Abu Khaireni Rural Municipality-3. They had attacked Kaini and destroyed his camera and mobile while Kaini was headed to collect news on sand mining without license at Marshyangdi River.
