According to police, irate kin of Sita Shahi, 22, of Chaudakha, Dailekh vandalised the hospital alleging that she died due to the negligence of doctors.
She gave birth to a baby boy at around 1 am on Thursday. Shahi breathed her last while undergoing treatment at around 4 am.
Police said that the health condition of baby is normal.
According to Area Police Office, Kohalpur, anguished relatives of Shahi chanted slogans and vandalised the hospital.
She was the wife of Armed Police Force (APF) head constable Lal Bahadur Shahi.
The relatives demanded that the hospital clear all the expenses, take body to Kathmandu for postmortem and provide all the necessary expenses to the child for life time.
The hospital administration, however, said that it would bear all the expenses for 1,000 days. The hospital administration said that it would take necessary decision after holding a meeting.
