Korean and Nepali artworks at NAC
The Nepal Art Council at Babarmahal is currently hosting an exhibition showcasing the works of 34 artists from Nepal and South Korea. Speaking at the event, Joshi expressed great hope for the future of the national art scene and noted that “Nepal has entered a new phase of socio-cultural development and it is the function of today’s artists to represent these changes.” In his speech, he also implored Nepali and South Korean artists to continue to collaborate in the future.
South Korean Artist and professor, Im Gun Un, stated that the South Korean consulate, along with Nepal Art Council, would continue to organise joint exhibitions and seminars as “it would help establish an international network for artists to promote their work.” Artist and Art Critic, Madan Chitrakar whose paintings are part of the exhibit, also expressed deep contentment regarding the occasion.
“Nepali artists have succeeded in producing incisive critiques of contemporary issues in an aesthetically sound and attractive way,” he said.
The exhibition continue till January 24.
