Written and directed by Prabin Syangbo, Katha ’72, according to producers at Local Cinema, “is the first of their attempt to bring to the screen local, original stories.”
The film’s logline reads: “An aloof and a distant man learns the true meaning of home and also learns to see the women in his life in a new light before leaving his earthquake shattered country.”
The first teaser of Katha ’72 features a few stills. The film, according to producers, is shot in Sindhupalchowk, around villages such as Panchpokhari and Bhotang. The teaser also reveals a village devastated by the quakes.
The film marks a comeback for director Prabin Syangbo: Katha ’72 is the director’s second film after 2013’s Adhyaya. While the film is photographed by Chintan Rajbhandari, the cinematographer behind the award-winning short film Dadyaa.
Katha ’72’s cast comprises of actors Akash Magar, Supriya Rana, Bhuisal Lama, Palmo Sanju Tamang, Kedar Shrestha, Sharada Adhikari, Romash Emerald Bishwodeep.
