UML, CPN (MC) meet fails to form committee to determine common ideological issues

The meeting held at UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli’s residence in Balkot, Bhaktapur, however, endorsed a report prepared by the taskforce on the formation of province government, chief ministers, speakers and deputy speakers.
According to the taskforce decision, UML and Maoist Centre will appoint four and two chief ministers respectively.
The two parties, however, have decided to share posts of speaker and deputy speaker on 70:30 ratio.
According to Manahari Timilsena, press coordinator of Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the meeting did not take any decision on forming the committee to prepare the common document.
On the occasion, Oli and Dahal briefed the meeting about the progress of the party unification.
CPN-UML Chairman Oli, senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, Vice-Chairman Bam Dev Gautam and General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel from the UML and Chairman Dahal, leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha and General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa from the Maoist Centre were present in the meeting.
