UK minister, Army chief to begin weeklong visit tomorrow
Feb 7, 2018-Minister of State for the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom, Mark Lancaster and his wife Caroline Dinenage, Minister of State for Health and Social Care, are arriving in Nepal on Thursday on a weeklong visit, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
The visiting UK ministers are scheduled to hold meetings with senior officials of Nepal, the ministry added.
Lancaster will be accompanied by General Sir Nicholas Patrick Carter, the chief of the General Staff of the British Army. Apart from a meeting with Nepal Army brass, British Minister Lancaster and Gen Carter are scheduled to observe the attestation parade by new Nepali recruits of the British Army.
Minister Lancaster, who has already served as British Defence Minister, is familiar with the matters related to the Nepalis serving in the British Army who are popularly known as Gurkhas.
