Workers are racing against time to set up the office of the chief minister for Province 7 before the formation of the provincial government.
Pradipraj Kandel, secretary of the Office of the Chief Minister and the Council of Provincial Ministers, said the building of the erstwhile Seti Zonal Transport Management in Dhangadhi is heaving with construction works these days to set up the office for chief minister.
“We plan to complete the construction works within a few days,” he said.
There will be 29 employees working at the chief minister’s office.
With the office under construction, the employees are working from outside.
“Works are also on at war footing to set up offices of provincial ministries and government agencies,” said Kandel.
The Urban Development and Building Construction Division Office (UDBCO) has been assigned with the task of constructing the ministries and provincial government offices.
The provincial ministries will be set up in the buildings that previously belonged to government offices.
“It may take 10 days to manage buildings for provincial ministries,” said UDBCO chief Rabindra Bohara.
“Our target is to finish the works by the third week of February.”
