Driver, conductor feared dead as dairy truck falls into Trishuli River

The driver and the conductor of the dairy truck are feared dead following the incident.
The accident occurred when the dairy truck, Ba 4 Kha 6953, en route to Kathmandu from Narayangadh collided with the container truck, Na 7 Kha 4314, coming from the opposite direction at around 5:45 am this morning, informed District Police DSP Prabhu Dhakal.
“The dairy truck fell some 100 metres down the road into Trishuli River and we can see the partially submerged truck,” said DSP Dhakal, “A rescue team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force are on the scene.”
The rescue personnel have located the driver of the dairy truck who is reportedly stuck between the seat and steering wheel.
Meanwhile, the driver of the container truck has fled the accident scene leaving behind his vehicle. A search is underway to find the absconding driver, informed police.
