Agricultural fair slated to open on Thursday

Feb 13, 2018-The second edition of the Nepal AgriTech International Expo will kick off on Thursday at Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu. The four-day event is the largest exhibition in Nepal featuring stalls and programmes related to agriculture, farm machinery, dairy, livestock, poultry, floriculture and farm equipment and technologies.

The mega agricultural show will display agro machinery, tractors and other innovative agricultural technologies. The expo will also host stalls of companies related to poultry, livestock, seeds and fertilisers and have four separate industry-specific pavilions on farm and machinery, grain, poultry and livestock, and dairy. Visitors will be able to view and buy farm produce from Nepal at Agri Mart.

The expo will organize an Agri Symposium in collaboration with Shree Kishan Innovation Hub, which will feature seminar sessions on topics related to the agricultural sector on Friday and Saturday. These sessions will seek to educate farmers and the concerned stakeholders on modern agricultural trends and technologies. On the second day of the event, International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group will organize a session titled Climate Smart Agriculture while Heifer International will deliver a session titled Goats for Growth.

On the third day of the expo, Shreenagar Agro Group will organize a session titled Prosperous Farmers Nation’s Pride while and Shree Kishan Innovation Hub will present a session titled Innovative Technologies for Farmers. The expo aims to hold these four sessions primarily for transferring knowledge and technology to farmers from different fields of agriculture.

The show is supported by the Nepal Poultry Federation, Agro Enterprise Centre-FNCCI, Nepal Agricultural Cooperative Central Federation and Agriculture and Food Security Project.

Nepal AgriTech International Expo 2018 is being organized by Media Space Solutions and Futurex Trade Fair and Events. the Prime Minister Agriculture Modernisation Project is a co-organizer of the event. International Tractors (SONALIKA) is the main sponsor while Mahindra and Poshak are co-sponsors.

The first edition of the expo was held in 2017. More than 130 companies participated in the fair, including 60 international companies from India, US, Belgium, the Netherlands, China, Malaysia, Bangladesh and Turkey.
