The Nepal Army (NA) is organising the Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) third National Men’s Volleyball Tournament at the Army Physical Training and Sports Centre in Lagankhel on February 18-24.

NA colonel Bijay Thapa informed that the tournament features participation of eight teams. Five Regional teams will rub their shoulder with three departmental clubs in the tournament to be played under league-cum-knockout format in two groups.

Champions in the last two editions Tribhuvan Army Club, Mid-western Region, Far-western Region and Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club are drawn in Group ‘A’. Group ‘B’ comprises Nepal Police Club, Eastern Region, Central Region and Far-western Region. 

The top two teams in each of the two pools will qualify for the semi-finals. Top three teams will get Rs 300,000, Rs 150,000 and Rs 75,000. The best spiker, blocker, defender, lifter and coach will be rewarded with Rs 10,000 each. Nepal Investment Bank, the  sponsor of the tournament, is providing Rs 1.5 million to organise the event.
