‘4.26pc govt employees didn’t submit property details in 2016-17’
Teachers toppedthe chart with as many as 14.2 percent failing to submit property details
Feb 19, 2018-The government staffers who submitted their property details increased by 0.3 percent points in the last fiscal year 2016-17 compared to the previous year.
According to the National Vigilance Centre, a total of 449,140 government staffers submitted their property details in the fiscal year 2016-17 as compared to 441,471 in 2015-16. The NVC submitted the property details of public servants to the CIAA on Sunday.
As per Clause 50 of the Corruption Prevention Act, all public servants are required to submit their property details as well as that of their family members in a prescribed format within 60 days after the end of the fiscal year.
Among the government staffers, the teachers topped the chart among those failing to submit property details.
As many as 14.2 percent teachers failed to submit property details, followed by civil servants with 5.22 percent, Nepal Army with 1.54 percent, police with 0.11 percent and others 1.83 percent.
