Maoist leader moves SC for not getting MP spot
Feb 19, 2018-
CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Prem Bahadur Singh has filed a case at the Supreme Court (SC) charging his party and the Election Commission of flouting constitutional provisions while selecting candidates under the Proportional Representation (PR) category.
Singh, who had joined the Maoist party ahead of the elections, has said that he should have been appointed to the lower house under the quota of the marginalised community, but both the Maoist Centre and the EC breached the constitutional provisions to bar him from becoming an MP.
