Speaking at a programme organised in Kathmandu on Tuesday, the UML Secretary said the new government will be dedicated to economic prosperity and that a small Cabinet envisaged by the constitution will be formed.
He said the new government will form a small Cabinet required to meet the government’s objective of maintaining political stability and achieving economic growth. “Our taskforce has recommended the government to form a 15-member Cabinet, so some of the ministries will be integrated and others will be scrapped,” he said.
Leader Gyawali said the current government will accord priority to improve democracy, protect national interests, maintain good-governance, control corruption, increase investment for prosperity and along with implementation of the new constitution.
“This government will not keep itself occupied with 10-5 office job, cutting ribbon, attending Poojas because we are facing an acid test,” he said.
UML, Maoist Centre unification
Recalling the evolution of Communist Party of Nepal since it was formed in 2006 BS (1949), leader Gyawali hoped that the announcement to merge CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) would be a historic step in Nepal and there will be political stability in the country. The unification would be an inspiration for world communist movement.
He said some legal procedures are necessary to conclude the unification process. “It may take about three weeks to finalise the unification announcement as the deal reached on Monday should be endorsed by the central committees of the two parties,” said leader Gyawali.
