Variance in my date of birth due to human error: Dr KC
Senior orthopedic surgeon at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) Dr Govinda KC has blamed human error for the inconsistencies in his date of birth.Senior orthopedic surgeon at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) Dr Govinda KC has blamed human error for the inconsistencies in his date of birth.
At a press conference on the premises of TUTH in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu on Wednesday, Dr KC displayed his original citizenship certificate and character certificate of School Leaving Certificate (SLC) and admitted the variance in his date of birth.
The anti-corruption crusader, who has been demanding fair investigation into the authenticity of Chief Justice Gopal Parajuli’s citizenship certificate, made the move to clear the confusion after questions were raised about the certificates Dr KC submitted for his promotions at various levels of medical career.
According to his citizenship certificate displayed at the press meet, Dr KC’s date of birth was Oct 12, 1956 but his date of birth has been mentioned as Feb 6, 1957 in his SLC character certificate. “I have to admit that there have been inconstiences in my date of birth in the documents submitted for promotion,” said Dr KC. He added that he would have gone to the concerned bodies to make correction had he known about it before.
Saying the allegation that he hadn’t submitted his citizenship and other certificates hold no water, Dr KC claimed that it was only an attempt by the Tribhuvan University office bearers to create unnecessary controversy by deliberately concealing his documents.
KC said that CJ Parajuli should be removed by filing an impeachment motion in the parliament. Accusing CJ Parajuli of being a corrupt individual, Dr KC warned of resorting to another strike.
