The sixth edition of the exhibition will run for three days from March 16-18 at Bhrikutimandap. The expo will have displays related to garments, automobiles, handicrafts, agriculture, leather, furniture, travel and tours, cottage industry, herbal products, fashion designing, music and movies.
“This year’s exhibition will be mainly geared towards raising awareness among Nepali consumers about high quality Nepali products and services. Through this expo, we wish to help Nepali companies and industries gain confidence in improving the quality of their products and services,” said Sudarshan Basnet, chairperson of the Made in Nepal Expo.
The slogan for this year’s event is ‘Hamro Pani Ramro Pani’. Deepak Thapa, member of the organising team, said that the slogan from last year’s edition had been repeated this year to reinforce the perception that Nepali goods can also be on a par with international goods.
The event is being organised by the Nepalese Young Entrepreneurs’ Forum and managed by Rising Nepal and Mice International Service.
When asked by journalists whether the organisers use products made in Nepal in their own offices and homes, Chairperson Basnet said that the organisers not just use Nepal-made products but also actively lobby with the government to install domestic equipment in its offices even though they may be slightly expensive.
The event will feature musical events, branding launches, liaison tie-ups, endorsements and lobbies, seminars and various live performances organised by various stalls.
