NC summons parliamentary party meeting for Saturday
The Nepali Congress (NC) has summoned a joint meeting of its federal parliament lawmakers and National Assembly (NA) members for Saturday. NC spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma said that the meeting would discuss the process to elect its Parliamentary Party leader.
Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, General Secretary Shashanka Koirala and former General Secretary Prakash Man Singh eyeing for the post of Parliamentary Party leader.
General Secretary Koirala said that Party President Deuba should leave the Parliamentary Party leader post on moral ground as the party under his leadership had faced a humiliating defeat in the recently held House of Representative and Provincial Assembly elections.
Senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel faction, however, has demanded Parliamentary Party and Central Committee meeting instead of Central Execution Committee meeting.
Earlier, Deuba had summoned the Central Working Execution Committee meeting for Thursday.
