Bangladesh Expo to kick off on Friday
Bangladesh is organising the 4th Bangladesh Expo 2018 and 2nd Nepal-Bangladesh Business Forum at Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall on Friday. The trade fair also aims to familiarise the wide variety of Bangladeshi made products to Nepalis entrepreneurs and consumers, the organiser said on Tuesday.
“The primary objective of this expo is to showcase products that are made in Bangladesh to entrepreneurs and consumers in Nepal,” said Ambassador of Bangladesh to Nepal Mashfee Binte Shams.
“This is also an opportunity for Bangladesh entrepreneurs to become familiar with the big market of Nepal,” she added. “Expanding trade between the two countries is the best way to take the relationship forward because we must work together for socio-economic development and future prosperity.”
The expo will showcase products of entrepreneurs and renowned business houses from Bangladesh including building and construction materials, furniture, diversified jute products, readymade garments, sarees, ladies dress, plastic products, cosmetics, ceramics, tiles, leather products, textiles, footwear, electronics and appliances.
Furthermore, a wide range of handicrafts, generators, machineries, processed food, IT solutions, education institutions, consumer products, batteries, bathroom fittings, motorcycle and jewelry will be displayed at the event.
The expo will also showcase art exhibition of 23 renowned artists from Bangladesh to highlight the vibrant cultural traditions of Bangladesh.
The embassy also informed that selected Nepalis exporters have also been invited to showcase their products at the expo, potentially opening up the way for exports to Bangladesh.
The embassy said that the expo is expected to create a platform for exchange of information and ideas and provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs of the two countries to explore business-to-business linkages for harnessing the available synergies in the areas of trade and business for mutual benefit.
