NRA launches website to share info on rebuilding
The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has launched a website to share information about the ongoing reconstruction projects. The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has launched a website to share information about the ongoing reconstruction projects.
The website (pmis.nra.gov.np) of Project Monitoring Information System will contain information about the progress and other aspects of post-earthquake reconstruction works, which can be accessed by the public and concerned stakeholders.
NRA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Yubaraj Bhusal said the system will aid in project monitoring and keep track of the work progress.
“Besides the NRA, multiple stakeholders including NGOs and INGOs are involved in reconstruction works in different parts of the country. Our online system will have information on every household affected by the 2015 earthquake,” he said.
The system was launched with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The NRA believes that the system will make its task easier and effective by providing the latest and near-real-time information about reconstruction activities taking place in different parts of the country. It is an upgrade from the system of submitting periodic progress report.
“The system will serve as a one-stop information platform for both public and stakeholders. Now it will be easier to monitor all the works of government and donor agencies through one channel. It will also make all stakeholders accountable and transparent,” said NRA Deputy Spokesperson Bhishma Kumar Bhusal.
While the public will have limited access to the data without the need for logging into the system, the stakeholders involved in the reconstruction works will have log-in accounts to access data as well as feed progress information.
Bhusal said with the essential information available on the website, the NRA can do with fewer field visits to monitor the reconstruction works.
“Feedback can be provided online based on the project status which will be updated regularly,” he said, adding that the NRA will soon train its field employees to feed the information to the system.
