People in the Tarai celebrated the Holi with a rainbow of colours on Friday. The festival is observed by Hindus to honour Lord Vishnu who, according to a legend, intervened in the avatar of Narsimha (half man half lion) to save prince Prahlad from demoness Holika. People in the Hill region celebrate the festival a day before the Tarai community.
