A patient admitted at Bharatpur Hospital apparently committed suicide by jumping off a third floor window in the Hospital on Monday.

Dhanraj Subba, 52, of Dhruba, Bharatpur-24, jumped from the toilet window at around 5:30 pm on Sunday. He had gone to the hospital after he fell ill apparently due to consumption of excessive alcohol, Bharatpur Hospital informed.

“He was admitted to the hospital for the treatment of his swollen pancreas on Friday,” said Information official of the hospital, Gopal Paudel, adding, “Those who consume excessive alcohol suffer from this kind of problem.”

According to DSP Prabhu Prasad Dhakal of the District Police Office, Chitwan, the hospital administration could not save him as he suddenly jumped off the third floor of the hospital.

Adhikari said that his wife was attending him. She was waiting him outside when he had gone to the toilet.
