India, China should be a blessing for Nepal: Dahal
CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has remarked that Nepal’s geographical location should be a blessing, not a curse, to be in between China and India.CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has remarked that Nepal’s geographical location should be a blessing, not a curse, to be in between China and India.
Addressing the House meeting on Tuesday, leader Dahal said that the feudal state in the past used to lean toward either of the neighbouring countries in order to divide the people but that kind of situations will no longer exist.
“We are in favour of neither China nor India. We are in favour of Nepal and will work together with both the countries for Nepal’s development,” said Dahal, who is also a key leader of the ruling alliance.
The CPN (Maoist Centre) leader also said that the Nepali migrant works living abroad will not return just because we call them back. “People go to abroad in search of better opportunities and a good system,” he said. “They will return if we could create a good system in our country.”
He said the foundation pillar for development and prosperity has been erected. “We have drafted a new constitution through the Constituent Assembly (CA), now it is time to strive for prosperity and development.”
Likewise, he noted that the government will work in agreement with opposition parties regarding the issues of national interests. He said the country will build the foundation for good governance, development and prosperity in the next five years. He underscored the need to adopt carrot-and-stick approach in order to improve good governance.
