Mar 7, 2018-
The Hidden Treasure Miss Nepal, the country’s premier beauty pageant that nominates Nepali contestants to international pageants like the Miss Universe, has set the ball rolling for 2018. This year’s event, the 23rd iteration of the pageant, will see 25 participants from eight different cities—Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal, Chitwan, Dhangadi, Butwal, Nepalganj and Pokhara—compete for the crown at the final gala event in April.
The pageant chose Nagma Shrestha to represent Nepal at the Miss Universe last year. Akin to the previous iterations, this time around too Miss Nepal will have four title winners—Miss Nepal Universe, Miss Nepal World, Miss Nepal Earth and Miss Nepal International. The contest for yet another title, Miss Nepal Asia Pacific, has been postponed for a while, organisers said.
Speaking to the Post, Gopal Sunder Lal Kakshapati, chairman of The Hidden Treasures, said, “The competition will be tougher this time...We have beautiful, smart and intelligent participants not only from within Nepal but also those who have been residing abroad for a while.”
The contestants are currently in a seven-week long training sessions. As part of the sessions, the participants will be travelling to Pokhara and surrouding areas for recreations. The contestants will also travel to the tourism hub of Ghandruk.
The sub-titles of this year’s event include The Kathmandu Post Miss Intellect and Berger Miss Glam, among others.
The finale of Miss Nepal will take place in the Capital on April 11.
