The Central Criminal Court Old Bailey on Thursday sentenced Sunmaya Tamang to eight years in prison.
British Police said Tamang, 51, killed former British Gurkha soldier Man Limbu, 75, by strangling him with a muffler at Victoria Road. After the murder, she went to Limbu’s residence in Aldershot and threatened his wife.
According to Hempsire Police, Limbu was found unconscious at his Victoria Road-based apartment on March10, 2017. He was declared dead as soon as the police and ambulance reached the scene shortly after 5 pm.
Old Baily court observed that Tamang dragged Limbu to the kitchen after he fell to the ground and covered his head with a plastic so that his blood would not spill into the carpet. Then Sunmaya carried a Khukuri and left for Limbu’s house, where she had an argument with Limbu’s wife Gayatri Devi, 48, and threatened to kill her. She bit the cheek of Limbu’s wife before leaving.
In November 2017, Winchester Crown court had found Sunmaya guilty of the murder but concluded that she didn’t commit the murder intentionally.
However, the motive behind the murder is not clear.
