KMC and Cimex to sign MoU for sky rail project

The company had submitted a pre-feasibility study report on 10-km sky rail to Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya in July last year. The rail route will start at Tilganga and pass through Tinkune, Babarmahal, Sahid Gate, Teku and Kalimati before ending at Kalanki.
KMC spokesperson Gyanendra Karki said the metropolis will give the company two months to submit its DPR. The project is estimated to cost over Rs 300 million.
The KMC will either seek government investment or opt develop the project under public private partnership model, said Karki.
The KMC had signed an MoU to conduct technical study and financial feasibility for the sky rail in February last year.
The study had shown the possibility of running sky rail in Kathmandu.
