Japan pledges continued support
Japanese envoy says Japan is ready to help Nepal in infrastructure and economy developmentJapanese Ambassador Masashi Ogawa has said Japan will continue to support Nepal in the coming days.
Speaking at a programme organised to mark the 44th anniversary of Jica Alumni Association of Nepal (Jaan) in the Capital on Friday, Ogawa said Japan is always ready to help Nepal in economy and infrastructure development projects.
“I am delighted to know that the members of Jaan have been endeavouring to promote friendship and mutual understanding between Japan and Nepal since Jaan’s inception in Nepal 42 years ago,” said Ogawa.
Established by Nepali student who studied in Japan in 1973, Jaan now provides various trainings and academic education in Nepal under Jica programme in Japan. Jaan has been working in various fields like education, agriculture and promotion of bilateral culture for social and environmental development.
Jun Sakuma, chief representative of Jica highlighted Jaan’s works in benefiting bilateral relationship.
He also said how Jica in collaboration with key agencies of the government of Nepal organised Build Back Better seminar on May 25, 2015 by inviting experts, researchers and professionals from Japan.
