Province 7 Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatta met Chaudhary, 18, of Ghodaghodi Municipality-5 of Kailali, at Seti Zonal Hospital on Sunday and said the government will bear all the expenses incurred in her treatment. He also assured action against all those guilty in the incident.
Chaudhary was tortured for six hours by a group led by Ram Bahadur Chaudhary, a local "shaman", Kismati Chaudhary on witchcraft charges on March 8.
Meanwhile, the CPN-UML has formed a three-member probe committee to investigate the involvement of its mayor in Ghodaghodi Municipality to protect the assailants.
Mayor Mamata Prasad Chaudhary has been charged of trying to protect the attackers.
