Wet weather ‘to continue for A few days’
Wet weather will continue for the next few days, the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) said on Sunday.Wet weather will continue for the next few days, the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) said on Sunday.
The department attributed thunderstorm and heavy rain in Kathmandu Valley and different parts of the country on Sunday to the sudden change in weather conditions.
Cloudy weather, isolated rainfall with thunderstorm and hailstorm occurred in mainly hilly districts of the country, the department said.
MFD Meteorologist Shanti Kandel said changes in weather and isolated precipitation, recorded in places, especially east of Pokhara, was not due to any outside disturbance, but due to local wind.
“Rainfall and cloudy weather in hilly districts was the impact of local wind that supported forming of clouds. The rainfall was not because of major change in the meteorological system,” said Kandel.
While the weather was mostly fair in the rest of the country, eastern and central hilly regions saw partly cloudy weather and brief thundershower.
Rainfall would be light and isolated with different intensity in various places. The department also forecast that such phenomenon was likely to continue for next few days when weather will change for few hours every day.
“While weather will be fair from morning, it will start changing later in the afternoon. The weather will turn cloudy with possibility of drizzle post afternoon,” she said.
