Controversy surrounding judiciary a sad affair: PM Oli

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the controversy regarding the birth date and educational certificates of a person who holds a responsible position in the judiciary was a sad affair.

Speaking during a programme organised for federal and provincial lawmakers who supported the government in the parliament during the vote of confidence in Baluwatar on Wednesday, PM Oli said that the general people who go to the judiciary to seek justice are facing the brunt due to the mismanagement at the court.

“The judiciary is at a boiling point and the people seeking justice are facing the brunt,” said PM Oli, “It is a sad affair that a controversy has emerged regarding the birth date and education certificates of a person sitting in a responsible position," he said hinting towards Chief Justice Gopal Prasad Parajuli.

On a different note, PM Oli said that the CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre) will unify as per the need of the time and demand of the people.

Saying that the party unification process will be completed within April 22—the day Nepal Communist Party was formed—PM Oli said, “The incumbent government is capable of leading the nation towards peace, stability, development, prosperity and national unity.

PM Oli, during the programme, also said that the government is ready to make amendments to the constitution as per the wishes of the people, need of the time and in favour of the country.
