Corruption case against tax officer Bhusal

The CIAA on Thursday filed the case against Bhusal at the Special Court in Kathmandu on charge of illegally amassing Rs 1,58,63,000 by abusing his power while holding the public post.
The anti-graft body in its charge-sheet has alleged that Bhusal failed to declare the source of aforesaid amount during the investigation of the properties owned by him and his relative until mid-February.
“It has been found Bhusal has amassed properties including bank balances in the name of his family members, investment in shares of various companies and purchased land,” read a CIAA statement.
The anti-graft body has filed the corruption case, according to Corruption Prevention Act, seeking recovery of Rs 1,58,63,657 lacking sources. The CIAA , in the charge-sheet, has also demanded the authority to seize the illegal property.
