NA members present differing views on EU election report

NA members from CPN-UML, Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) protested the EU EOM report while Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum Nepal and Rastriya Janata Party Nepal NA members expressed views in support of the report.
Addressing the NA meet today, Sher Bahadur Rai, NA member from the ruling CPN-UML said those who cannot see the unity amongst the Nepali people had also protested the constitution, claiming the EU EOM report was more of a directive rather than a recommendation.
Likewise, UML lawmaker Komal Oli opined that Nepal is known for its diversity and the EU report was prepared to tarnish that image.
Badri Pandey, NA member from the main-opposition Nepali Congress said that the EU report infringed upon the constitution of Nepal.
Similarly, CPN (MC) lawmaker Ram Narayan Bidari said that the government must defend the nation saying that foreign money was being used to manipulate secularism in Nepal.
Lawmaker Uday Sharma said that the EU must revise its report that was prepared by overstepping its jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, RJP-N lawmaker Brishesh Chandra Lal expressed the EU report was a recommendation and it should not be dubbed as interference in Nepal’s matters.
Also, SSFN lawmaker Pramila Kumari said the EU report must be taken in a positive way adding that it should not be interpreted in wrong way.
