Govt to table HPE ordinance in Parliament today

According to the House work schedule published today, Education Minister Giriraj Mani Pokharel will present the HPE ordinance at the parliament meet scheduled for 1 pm.
Likewise, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa will also table the ordinance on the election of members of National Assembly at the meeting of the House of Representatives.
Similarly, Law Minister Sher Bahadur Tamang will also table ordinance related to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission for endorsement.
Dr Govinda KC, senior orthopaedic surgeon at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) had warned that he will stage another round of hunger strike if the HPE ordinance is not tabled in the Parliament at the earliest.
Earlier on November 10 last year, the ordinance incorporating all major provisions demanded by Dr Govinda KC was enforced as HPE Act to meet his demands following presidential authentication.
The ordinance was moved as demanded by Dr KC in line with the recommendations of a team of experts led by educationist Kedar Bhakta Mathema.
