Those who came back are Maheshwor Acharya, Kamal Bahadur Dharti, Man Bahadur Sreesa Pun and Ashok Paudel from Baglung, and Jeevan Shrestha and Sonam Chhiri Sherpa from Sindhupalchok.
They were left to languish in Togo in their bid to enter the United States through illegal routes. All of them had got into the clutches of human traffickers and paid huge sums of money with the hope to reach America.
After passing several countries, they had reached Togo six months ago. Acharya, who paid Rs2.5 million, had reached there after staying in New Delhi for two months, in Thailand for three months and four months in Nigeria.
According to Raj Kumar Paudel, father of Ashok, all six boarded the flight from Togo to Ethiopia on Saturday before taking another flight to New Delhi.
From New Delhi, they landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport around 9pm on Sunday night, said Paudel, thanking everyone for facilitating the return of his son and others.
