During his visit, Minister Pokharel said that the Nepal Army should continue to take up the national pride projects. He directed the army to make the institution more professional rather than democratisation. “We see the picture of national unity in the faces of Nepal Army,” he said.
He also praised the role of Nepal Army in peace keeping, national unity, and social harmony, and nationality, among other things. Marking the role of Nepal Army in maintaining national unity, the acting prime minister said the Nepal Army has been a reliable pillar of Nepali people.
Acting Chief of Army Lieutenant General Purna Chandra Thapa was also present on the occassion.
