Gurung re-elected FONIJ Chair
The sixth national convention of Federation of Nepali Indigenous Nationalities Journalists (FONIJ) has re-elected Danda Gurung as its chairperson for the second term.The sixth national convention of Federation of Nepali Indigenous Nationalities Journalists (FONIJ) has re-elected Danda Gurung as its chairperson for the second term.
The convention of the umbrella organisation of all the indigenous nationalities journalists of the country has also unanimously elected Gajurdhan Rai as senior vice-chairperson, Lucky Chaudhary as chairperson, Manoj Ghartimagar as General Secretary.
Similarly, Milan Limbu has been unanimously elected as Secretary (organisational), Jagat Lama as Secretary (Institutional), Amardhoj Lama as treasurer and Anjana Shrestha as joint-treasurer.
The convention has also unanimously elected province incharges — Niraj Pithakoti of Province 2, Samir Balami of Province 3, Hum Bahadur Gurung of Province 4, Dev Bahadur Pachbhaiya of Province 5, Ashok Raji of Province 6, Ram Chandra Kushmi of Province 7.
Sitaram Chaudhary, Dipendra Rai, Chandra Pandrak Limbu, Anita Gurung, Manoj Ghartimagar, Bishnu Kumar Tamang and Nripendra Shrestha were elected unanimously as members.
The election committee is conducting elections for vice-chairperson (woman) and central committee members.
