Gorkhas tame Tigers as Gorillas secure victory

In the first match of the day, Gorkhas defeated Bardiya Tigers by eight wickets. Put in to bat first, Tigers were restricted to 129-7 and needed a 36-run seventh-wicket partnership from Avinash Bohora and Aakash Bista to put a respectable total. Gorkhas cantered to victory in 17 overs for the loss of two wickets.
Gorkhas opening pair of Manoj Sunar and Sandeep Sunar led the chase perfectly adding 42 runs for the first wicket. Manoj top scored with a 34-ball 50 hitting six boundaries and two sixes. Sandeep, the former Nepal U-19 international, chipped in 29 from 17 balls with four boundaries and two sixes.
After the departure of the two openers, Binayak Giri (24) and skipper Amar Singh Routela (23) guided the team safely with a 47-run unbroken stand for the third wicket. Earlier, Bista was the leading scorer for Tigers making 25 from 15 balls with two sixes and a boundary. Bohora hit a nine-ball 15. Rajbir Singh was the second best scorer for Tigers with 28 runs. Bishnu Katariya and Routela took two wickets each for Gorkhas.
In the second game, Gorillas got the better of Palpa Yoddhas by 19 runs. Batting first, Gorillas were 106 all out in 19.1 overs but their bowlers did extremely well to bundle out Yoddhas for just 88 runs in 16.1 overs. Binod Lama took three wickets for Gorillas. Nandan Yadav and Basanta Karki also had two scalps apiece.
Skipper Saurav Khanal was the lone fighter in Gorillas innings as he stroked 48 runs from 56 balls with five fours and two sixes. Siddhant Raj Shahi took three wickets for Yoddhas with Bijay Chaudhary and Dipendra Rawat also getting two scalps apiece.
