Inaugurating the 19th General Assembly of Ratnanagar Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Tandi on Monday, Minister Thapa said, “Though half of the population is women, only 33 percent seats are reserved for women at policy making and decision implementation level. This shows that even though there are rights allotted equality still lacks.”
Likewise, Minister Thapa insisted on the need of revising acts and laws causing hindrances to the development and prosperity and making the country's economy self-sufficient.
On the occasion, Minister Thapa said the government is committed to end any form of syndicate or carteling in every sector. He pledged to ensure security in the industrial sector, terming the donation driver as a crime for the society.
Minister Thapa further said the government would encourage and facilitate in setting up productive industries.
“It is imperative to control crime, corruption, cross-border illegal activities, organised crime for the country’s development,” said the Home Minister, adding that respective authorities should adopt zero-tolerance policy against corruption.
Vice President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce Industry, Kishore Kumar Pradhan, demanded the government take measures to create employment opportunities within the country so as to provide a ground for young generation to seek career at home. "It is a matter of concern that around 1,500 youths leaves the country every day in search of foreign employment."
