Preparati- ons are under way for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming Nepal visit slated for the second week of May. In this regard, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri held a meeting with Province 2 Chief Minister Mohammed Lalbabu Raut in Janakpur on Sunday.

Media reports have suggested that the Indian PM would visit famous Hindu pilgrimage sites in Janakpur and Muktinath during this trip. “His Excellency Mr Manjeev Singh Puri, Indian Ambassador, visited the Office of Chief Minister today,” CM Raut Twitted on Sunday.

“In our meeting, we discussed issues relating to prosperity of Province 2 and preparations for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Janakpur.” Although neither side has confirmed the date of the visit and itinerary yet, high-level sources said the visit could take place somewhere in mid-May.
