There used to be a time when a job hunt felt akin to a wild goose chase. With job listings scattered over many different newspapers, oftentimes without job descriptions or expectations, applying for a job was, more often than not, a stressful shot in the dark. But now with the proliferation of the internet, job hunts have become exponentially easier. Not only do today’s job portals curate a comprehensive list of vacancies across sectors, they also have various tools, search options and references that lets a job seeker connect with just the organisation that matches their needs and skill sets. 

Here are four Nepali job portals that have transformed how we seek out vacancies:

Clicking the job advertisement takes the user to the next page, which discloses information about the organisation, required qualification for the job, application deadline, salary, etc. If the user finds the job attractive, they can apply for the job through the ‘Apply Job’ button. Applying for job is easy with Merojob—once the user creates a profile with all the relevant information, the website creates curriculum vitae of the user. And during the application for any job, the same CV is forwarded to the employer.

Merojob has also been focusing on making the job searching process easy and hassle-free. A few months back, Merojob revamped its website to improve the user experience. The website now comes with a Jobkurakani section, where it posts some informative articles that help candidates better prepare for job hunts and eventual interviews. As a user-friendly gesture, Merojob has also incorporated a chat box on its website where one can drop their queries to the Merojob staff directly. It has also brought the Merojob app for Android and iOS platforms.

In its 18-year journey, JobsNepal search portal has connected myriad of job seekers to employers and have built a big brand for themselves along the way.

Upon first glance, JobNepal’s website seems pretty crowded with job listings all over the homepage; however, all of them are suitably divided into different sections—Hot Jobs, Instant Job Placement, Most Recent Jobs—to ease the job seeking process. Furthermore, the website also comes with an Active Jobs by Criteria search field, where one can perform a filtered search to seek out the jobs that they desire. The website also has tabs for Job category, Job type and Job city placed meticulously on the bottom of the page. The website has a dedicated search box on the top, where users can explore job vacancies using their preferred keywords, and has also incorporated FAQs and a help section to assist visitors to navigate the website with ease.
