Left-aligned media, intelligentsia spread rumour of NC being corrupt: Thapa
Nepali Congress (NC) central member Gagan Thapa has said the left-aligned media and intelligentsia have spread the rumours that Nepali Congress is a corrupt party.Nepali Congress (NC) central member Gagan Thapa has said the left-aligned media and intelligentsia have spread the rumours that Nepali Congress is a corrupt party.
Speaking at a programme organised in Chitwan on Friday, leader Thapa said new voters were not attracted towards the NC due to the same rumour.
“The NC had garnered majority votes even though all the communist parties joined hands together in 1991 elections. The communist parties which got around 33 percent votes in the elections have now garnered 55 percent votes,” Thapa said.
The former Health Minister said the people will look after the works and image of the party representing the government. The NC, however, could not attract the voters while it was heading the erstwhile government.
“Communist parties had ruled the country for 3,400 days from 2007 onwards and NC had headed the government for 2,600 days but the public, due to the left’s rhetoric, blames NC for the current situation of the country,” said leader Thapa adding that this was a conspiracy to tarnish the image of the NC.
