Poudel slams Deuba at NC’s CWC meeting

Poudel, who spoke during the party’s ongoing Central Working Committee meeting, defended his letter sent to Deuba on the party’s dismal performance in all polls. He said he stands by the content of the letter that holds the party leadership responsible for the electoral drubbing.
“It was not me,” Poudel said at the meeting. “The party spokesperson made the letter public to the media.” The party president should take responsibility for the NC’s defeat, he reiterated on Friday. A central member said the Poudel camp plans to register a note of dissent if the two committees are not dissolved.
Poudel reiterated President Deuba should take responsibility for the party’s defeat and blamed his wrong decisions for the debacle.
The party plans to postpone the Mahasamiti meeting, which the Paudel faction wants convened by mid-June.
“The proposal should be passed by incorporating all the issues raised by other leaders at the Central Working Committee meeting,” said NC central member Arjun Narsingh. “I have been saying that the proposal should be tabled by forging consensus.”
He also demanded the two committees formed against the party statute be scrapped at the earliest. The Deuba faction refuses to do this.
The CWC meeting is deferred till Saturday for consensus. The meeting was put off after Paudel and Bijay Kumar Gachhadar put forth their views on Friday.
