The meeting that was summoned to nominate party office bearers was postponed upon the suggestion of NC general secretary Shashank Koirala, after leaders close to senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel and leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula decided to boycott the meet, arguing that the meeting was summoned without holding a discussion.
NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba had summoned the meeting at 8:30 am today.
Leader Poudel said that he has decided to boycott the meeting summoned by party President Sher Bahadur Deuba as the nomination was against the agreement and was being done without amending the party statute.
“We have decided not to take part in today’s meet as it was summoned against the statute and agreement,” said Poudel.
Both leaders are preparing to send several leaders from their side including Prakash Man Singh in the meeting to express their views.
The nomination process of party officials have failed to take place even after two years despite the party statue dictating that the nominations should be completed within 2 months. However, President Deuba claimed that it is a normal practice and has been adopted by his predecessors as well.
