Temporary ICU in Muktinath for Modi’s visit

The Health Ministry has been making preparation to set up an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Muktinath in view of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming Nepal visit.

Modi is scheduled to fly to Janakpur on May 11 from the bordering Indian city of Patna. After worshiping at Janaki Temple, he will fly to Muktinath, in Mustang district the same day. He is scheduled to visit Muktinath via Pokhara.

A joint team comprising doctors of Health Ministry, officer-bearers of Indian Embassy and doctors of PM Modi on Wednesday reached Muktinath to take stock of the situation and drew up necessary strategy about emergency treatment.

“A team including doctors reached Muktinath today to monitor the place and to prepare strategy to combat the situation in case any emergency health difficulty surfaced during Modi’s visit,” a source said, adding, “There is a small house in Muktinath, we will set up Intensive Care Unit in the same house.”
