The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to investigate the property of the office bearers of transport entrepreneurs’ committees.

A meeting held at the ministry in Kathmandu on Friday decided to take the details of all the office bearers of transport committees and Federation of Nepalese Transport Entrepreneurs from the district administration office and take ahead the investigation into their property, a source said. 

Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Raghubir Mahaseth and Rastriya Bank Governor Chiranjivi Nepal among others were present in the meeting.

It has been learnt that the Ministry has also directed the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) to write a letter to the Nepal Rastra Bank through Finance Ministry to freeze bank accounts of transport committees that have not been operating public vehicles.
